Orles Barn has a surprise visitor from the Daily Telegraph

At the end of May 2008 we were delighted to discover we had been reviewed by Paddy Burt in her column "Room Service" in the Daily Telegraph. Describing Orles Barn as an "honest and unpretentious hotel on the outskirts of Ross-on-Wye" and our food as "appealingly straight-forward" she clearly enjoyed her stay. Orles Barn thrives on generating a good crowd for fantastic events.

Such events carry on throughout the year and as well as the obvious seasonal ones include off-the-wall wine tastings, Italian themed nights and our own seasonal pudding nights. Many of these are listed opposite and show the sorts of nights we’ve held as well as the ones yet to come.

Art Course Weekend- Wye Reflections
Paint Herefordshire's most classic view with local professional artist Tony Avery. Two day course to include, accommodation, meals and tuition as you paint your own masterpiece under the guidance and assistance of Tony. Swimming Pool Disappears!
The Swimming Pool has been filled in and has transformed our garden. This space now gives us the flexibility to have a croquet lawn, an area for an outdoor jazz brunch or a marquee for a large function...roll on the summer!

Monstrous Trees Chopped Down
The enormous trees which have cast a shadow over the Orles Barn garden have finally been cut down to size allowing the sun to shine all day on our south facing garden...where is that sunshine?!

What no magnolia?
After many late nights, early mornings and pots of paint the ground floor of Orles Barn has been brought up to date with a liberal coating of Farrow & Ball paints. The bar looks incredible having got rid of the dark, oppresive wood and the restaurant is light and airy. The warm welcome that now awaits you is clean, fresh and much more up to date, now all we need to do is get it out of our hair.		 January 2008
